Who be DJ Cuppy?
Born as Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola for November 11, 1992, DJ Cuppy, or Cuppy as some pipo like to call am na Naija DJ and producer and de daughter of Nigerian businessman Femi Otedola. She grow up for Lagos before she move go London at 13years.
Cuppy play for MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban as de resident DJ, she later play for de Tatler and Christie’s Art Ball inside London, and for de Financial Times Luxury Summit in Mexico City.
She release House of Cuppy as her first compilation mix for London and Lagos in July 2014 before she launch am for New York on September 2, 2014.
That same year, Cuppy also launch a music management and content production business, Red Velvet Music Group wey dey for London.
Before all dis time, Cuppy been dey stay for Ilupeju and she stay there for six years before she move go Ikeja where she attend Grange School, Ikeja. She then relocate go London for her GCSEs and A-Level. She graduate from King’s College London in July 2014, with degree in business and economics.
She also collect master’s degree in music business from New York University in 2015. As at October 2021, Cuppy gain admission to secure master degree in African Studies for University of Oxford.
Cuppy say her sound na wetin we go call “Neo-Afrobeats”, wey be mixture of Electro house and Afrobeats and dis na as she take talk am for interview wey she do with Tush Magazine.
According to wetin she post for twitter on April 14, 2020, DJ Cuppy talk say she be vegan and dat one mean say she no dey chop animal as most pipo wey dey use am do meat.
