Di statement read, “Di driver of a green Toyota Sienna vehicle, with number plate, FST 901 AR, knock down and run over di LASTMA official, Jamiu Issa, wey later confirm say he don die, on April 19, 2022.
“Dem talk say di late Issa go meet and he con fine di Sienna vehicle driver wey bin dey drivie against di direction of flow of traffic, e bin dey face motor wey com from Chevron towards Conservation Toll Plaza.
“E dey reported say dem knock Issa down and di drivee wey offend, jam am. Issa’s colleague for the where e happen and dem call dia zonal head and some good Samaritans/people wey see am pursue Sienna driver wey he dey run go to Chevron Waterfront area where he dem con catch am las las and dem carry am go first to Ilasan police station, and den to Ajiwe police station, under where jurisdiction happened for proper investigation.
“Also, as people wey dey there wey see di matter as e happen, dem talk say di sienna driver even jam anoda person while her dey try to escape from Di scene before dem catch di driver.
“At Di same time wey di whole wahala dey sup, dem still reach Issa wey don injure well well, dem carry am go Lagos Island General Hospital wia dem confirm say as dem bring am come he don die already.
Dem don deposite Di remaining part of im body for mortuary wey dey di same hospital.”
Filade say the General Manager, LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba, don do sympathize with the family of di deceased officer, adding say those wey dey like to dey entreaties to dey injure government officials, say make dem stop am or dem go eventually face the full wrath of the law.
