Ibom Air, di indigenous Airline of di Akwa Ibom State Government of Nigeria, don order for ten (10) A220 aircrafts with airbus for di ongoing Dubai Airshow wey dey shele for di DWC event arena for Dubai.

Di Chief Executive Officer of di Airline, Mr Mfon Udom and Chief Commercial Officer of Airbus, Mr Christian Scherer, been sign di agreement for di presence of His Excellency, di Governor of Akwa Ibom, Mr Udom Emmanuel, di Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Uko Udom, SAN, and di chairman of Ibom Air, Mr Imoabasi Jacob.

Di Airline been carry two of di A220 for 6 months to test di suitability and now dem don decide to order 10 of di aircraft as part of deir massive growth plan. Di airline go soon dey cover some domestic routes and regional routes for West and Central Africa. Di first phase of di expansion go cover cities like Malabo, Douala, Libreville, Kinshasa, Accra, Abidjan, Freetown, Banjul and Dakar. Di airline dey ready to operate for di whole of Africa.

Di all-new A220 dey very efficient and e dey target di 100-150 seat market. Di aircraft dey burn 20% lower fuel per seat compared to di older aircrafts wey been dey and e dey fly to a range of 3,400 nm (6,297km).
