Police arrest soldier after him beat one lady wey no gree follow am go kpansh
The Lagos state police command arrest one Soldier, Mohammed Abdul, after them accuse am say him beat one lady, Uwa Asemota, wey no gree follow am go his house to have sex around Lekki, Lagos state on October 17th.
According to the victim, the 29-year soldier wey Millitary dismiss waka come meet her for road come say mske she follow am go house to go and have sex. Uwa said Abdul threaten say him go kill am if she no follow him, say him don dress plenty Boko Haram members. Na people wey dey pass wey witness wetin dey happen come alert the Female Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of Ilasan Division, SP Onyinye Onwuemegbu, wey come send some officers to arrest Abdul.
For investigation, Abdul tell police say him na serving soldier. The DPO wey no believe come alert the military police for the Bonny Camp Cantonment, Victoria Island wey be say them confirm after investigations say Army dismiss Abdul after him desert the Force in Borno State.
As them dey ask Uwa question, she say in quote;
“I was on my way to work on the day of the incident when the suspect in army uniform accosted me along the Silver bird Road, Lekki and introduced himself as a Military officer. The soldier later told me that I was too beautiful and that if I refused to follow him to his house to have sex, he would kill me, boasting that he had killed many Boko Haram suspects in Borno State and that if he kills me, nothing will happen The soldier later collected my phone and bag in broad daylight and remove his belt to tie my two hands and started beating me and anyone who comes close to beg him to spare me, he will hit the person with his fist and they will run away and I became scared and knelt down on the road and started begging him to spare my life all to no avail“.
She say the soldier wan carry her by force before the police from Ilasan Division, Lekki come rescue her. Abdul appear before one Igbosere Magistrate Court, Lagos on one count charge say him beat Uwa Asemota come tie her hands with belt against her will for no reason. Police prosecutor, Kingsley Johnson, tell the Court say the offense dey punishable under section 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Abdul plead not guilty to the charge wey dey against him. The Chief Magistrate A.O Komolafe grant am bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in the same sum and him shift the case till November 22nd for mention.
The Chief Magistrate order say make Abdul still dey Ikoyi Prison till him meet him bail condiition.
