Two men — Ahmed Ogunjimi and Rasidi Abiola — wey according to reports break enter people house come rob them with toy gun, on Friday appear before one Ikeja Magistrates Court for Lagos.
The accused– Ogunjimi, 30, na bricklayer and Abiola, 29, na mechanic — appear before the Magistrate, Mr J.A. Adigun, on a three-count charge of say them conspire, break-in come thief.
The accused, wey be say two of them na residents of Alausa, Ikeja, however, plead say them no dey guilty and the court admit them to bail of N100,000 each with two sureties each for the same amount.
Adigun say the sureties go dey well employed with evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
According to the prosecutor, Sgt. Godwin Awase, the men commit the offences on Sept. 1 at 2.00 a.m. on Kudirat Abiola Way, Ikeja.
Him say the men and others wey still dey out there carry toy gun break-in come rob the apartment of Messers Uchenna Oluigbo, Lawrence Oyinda and Yusuf Abubakar.
In quote him say,
“The accused broke into the houses of the complainants and carted away with their property.
“They threatened to shoot the complainants with the “gun” if they refused to comply and out of fear, the complainants
“The accused stole different types of phones, gold necklace, cash from the complainants which valued was yet to be ascertained, ” Awase said.
According to the prosecutor, na the vigilante group of the community arrest the men.
Awase tell the court say;
“The accused were arrested while others escaped with the stolen items.
“The police discovered that the gun in their possession is a wooden toy gun,”
The offences contravened Sections 287, 307 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015(Revised).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) report say the accused fit face seven years jail term if court find them found guilty, as Section 307 state.
